frogshollow
frogshollow rainforest garden is located in the heart of Buderim on the Sunshine Coast, just north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
It is on 3.5 acres (1.4 hectares) and has been our home since July 2002.
There are distinctly different areas in our garden. Central to the property is the Piccabeen forest. This moist area has been left in its natural state, providing a cool shady refuge for a number of local fauna including the Noisy Pitta and the Emerald Dove. A boardwalk and a number of bridges assist with access through the forest.
We have cleared a vast amount of lantana (Lantana camera) surrounding the piccabeen forest and this area has been re-vegetated with a large variety of tropical plants including palms, spider lilies, heliconias, cordylines, gingers, calatheas and a selection of rainforest trees.
